5REASONS YOU MUST WATCH TVG THIS WEEKEND

1. PUTTING THE "SANTA" IN SANTA ANITA
December 26 marks the greatest Christmas tradition in racing—the opening of Santa Anita's 72nd winter/spring meet. From December 26 to April 19, the "Great Race Place" will be the site of California's best racing. Log onto TVG.com for streaming video of all of Santa Anita's races, including eight stakes races this holiday weekend. This Friday's opening-day Santa Anita card is an excellent one, with two incredible stakes for three-year-olds: the 7-furlong Malibu Stakes (G1) and the one-mile Sir Beaufort (G3) on the turf. In addition to this weekend's racing action, Santa Anita will offer a $200,000 Guaranteed Late Pick Four on Friday and a $300,000 Guaranteed Late Pick Four on Saturday and Sunday. 2. HOLIDAY CHEER AT TURFWAY

Tune into TVG all weekend long to watch and wager on Turfway Park's holiday meet, which runs through December 31, before the longer winter meet offers action from January 1 to April 2. This Saturday, betting opportunities abound in the 6-furlong Holiday Cheer Stakes. The purse may only be $50,000, but there's money to be made for the shrewd handicapper, since a full field of twelve horses (plus one Also Eligible) has been slated for the race. Rolling Daily Doubles and Pick Threes surround the feature, and the Holiday Cheer is also part of the late Pick Four. Graded-stakes placed Rouse the Cat is a speedster that doesn't get respect at the windows, and there are plenty of other talented sprinters to choose from in this exciting, competitive event. 3. TAMPA BAY'S COTILLION DAY FESTIVAL

This Saturday, Tampa Bay Downs plays host to one of the coolest days in winter racing—the second annual Cotillion Day Festival. This neat racing event features a full day of two-year-old races for colts, geldings, and fillies, at a variety of levels and distances on both turf and dirt. Catch all of the action on TVG, including Saturday's featured races, the $65,000 Inaugural Stakes for two-year-olds running 6 furlongs over the main track, and the $65,000 Sandpiper Stakes for two-year-old fillies, also traveling 6 furlongs on the dirt. Don't miss this opportunity to watch the stars of tomorrow as Tampa Bay Downs heats up winter racing.

4. CHRISTMAS STAKES AT MOUNTAINEER
The $75,000 Christmas Stakes on Saturday is the centerpiece of this holiday weekend's races at Mountaineer Park. The 6-furlong event drew a competitive field of twelve horses, with long shots Pforperfectpistol and Perfectly Played running as a coupled entry. Beyer devotees will have a tough decision to make in this race, as three of the field's crack sprinters have posted 100-plus Beyers, with speedball Eternal Star leading the charge as the even-money morning-line favorite. Not only are Eternal Star's speed figures stellar, but he's also capable of rating, which makes him very dangerous in this loaded with early sprint speed. The big knock on the fave, however, is that he has no Mountaineer experience. Could an upset be in the making? For exclusive TVG E-News analysis and selections for the Christmas Stakes, click here.
